News: Qualcomm's Snapdragon 836 May Be Rolling Out with the Note 8
The leaks and rumors surrounding the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 8 just keep coming. But none have suggested that the new Samsung phone might be powered by a different chipset than the Snapdragon 835, until now.According to a report by China-based IT Home (discovered by SamMobile), the device will possibly be powered by an upgraded Snapdragon 836 SoC. Qualcomm, the developer of the Snapdragon processor, has not commented on whether or not these rumors are true or what the Snapdragon 836 would do, but it wouldn't be out of the question to believe. The company has been known for launching slightly upgraded processors, which is what the 836 would be, as they did with the Snapdragon 821.The rumors are suggesting that the Snapdragon 836 will be in smartphones released around the third and fourth quarter. It is said is to feature a 2.5 GHz octa-core processor as well as a 740 MHz clocked GPU, which isn't a huge difference from the existing Snapdragon 835. But still, that's a bit more power.Don't Miss: Samsung Scraps In-Display Fingerprint Scanner for Galaxy Note 8Other upcoming smartphones that would get the Snapdragon 836 if rumors are true include the LG V30, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, Google's Pixel 2 phones, and more. Additionally, you might have heard the rumors surrounding the Snapdragon 845, which is to be the official next-generation flagship processor for Qualcomm that would follow the Snapdragon 835 and 836. There is where you're likely to see the biggest changes, but reports suggest that the Snapdragon 845 will not be released until 2018, meaning the Snapdragon 836 will have its time powering phones.Samsung really needs to get this one right after the Galaxy Note 7 disaster, and a Snapdragon 836 could possibly be the boost they need to see a performance quality better than the Galaxy S8 and give Apple's iPhone 8 a little more competition.Check out the full rumor roundup for the Galaxy Note 8 below!Don't Miss: Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Rumor Roundup—4K Display, 6 GB RAM, Bixby & MoreFollow Gadget Hacks on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and YouTube Follow Android Hacks on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest Follow WonderHowTo on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+
